Roger: Okay, you’re the mystic teacher. Why can’t you tell me the secret of God?
Murshid: Since seekers like you want the answer so much, it’s never given to you.
Once a student went to his murshid, asking for the divine secret. This teacher had his disciples put a mouse in a gift box.
“Here. You can carry the secret home with you, but don’t unwrap it.”
The student took the box to his room. He tried not to open it, but soon he couldn’t resist. Disappointed with a mere mouse, he returned the next day to the teacher.
“Why did you play such a prank? I wanted a real answer to my search for the mystery!”
“You can’t be trusted to hold the secret. In only one day you let it out.”
