Roger: In the mystic tradition there is often poetry, but usually you just talk plainly with me.
Murshid: It’s up to you to find the poem?
Roger: How?
Murshid: By staying on the path.
Keep walking now.
The horizon’s waiting
to show you flowers
and a stream flowing
like an eternal promise
of paradise.
Abandon all
still blinding you:
petty regrets of the past,
and fears of the future.
Once you step over yourself
it’s a beautiful view!
I love your line, "Once you step over yourself it's a beautiful view".
When I just focus on myself all I can see is who I am not and who I want to be and what I have and what I don't have.
I am looking only at a microcosm of a universe full of beauty and of wonder that transcends what I can understand in a lifetime.
