Roger: Even with a spiritual practice, this cell phone age keeps me distracted.

Murshid: Do you think prior to cell phones people lived free of distractions?

After years of searching for their son who left them to join a Sufi order, his parents finally tracked him down. While delighted to find him, they couldn’t help wondering why he chose to live in a dark room.

“Can’t we at least open one of these windows?” asked his mother.

“Please don’t.”

“Why not? asked his father.

“More than whatever is outside, I need clear spiritual vision within.”
